DIGITAL X-RAY

digital x ray main

Digital sensors capture detailed x-ray images with a fraction of the exposure found in traditional film x-rays.

Technological advancements in x-ray technology provide multiple benefits, from safety to improved treatment results.

BENEFITS:

  • Safety – Although traditional dental films require minimal radiation for image development, our digital x-ray system provides unsurpassed safety: up to 90% reduction in radiation compared to older film-based systems.

  • Time Savings – Images captured instantly with a digital sensor lessen the time you spend in the dental chair.

  • Better Outcomes – Improved image clarity increases our doctors’ ability to diagnose and treat conditions.

‘‘My family and I have been coming to this dentistry for almost a decade. Even after moving to college and then to North Dallas, I still come back here for all dental work because of the amazing staff and the honest business that this is. Dr. Callier and his staff have the patient’s best interest at heart; this is not a place of business where you will get ripped off.’’

All digital radiography can reduce the amount of radiation exposure up to 80% compared to traditional film. The radiation exposure from standard digital dental X-rays is very minimal. One bitewing X-ray (the standard X-ray to check for cavities between the back teeth) is approximately 0.001 mSv of radiation.
As small as that risk is, it decreases even further when a digital X-Ray is used. In fact, the amount of radiation emitted from a digital X-Ray is just 10 percent of the amount found in traditional X-Rays.

Ninety-eight percent of the dentists had made the transition to digital radiography; only 2% used film technique, and solid-state detector (SSD) was the most used digital technique. More years in service decreases the likelihood of applying individual indications for performing a full mouth examination.
